Well, well; the noble Hai family once again required aid after their guard was "sick" and now, someone had to guard their daughter. Luke wondered if the guard was really sick or was doing this deliberately as a ploy so this mission was always having to be filled and he could get sick leave pay. Luke thought the later would make him a sick jerk to do that to a little girl and in any case, the pay was said to be good for any ninja willing to be her temporary bodyguard. So Luke took the mission and headed for the mansion of the Hai family in the rich part of town; somewhere he didn't really go all that often since he wasn't all that welcome, especially during the entire misunderstanding that meant he was forced to be a hidden forest ninja, whether he liked it or not.
Of course, this being the rich part of the village, every house, every bench, every stone slab of the path were fancy and expensive as hell. of course, finding the place wasn't as easy as Luke first thought as a lot of homes built in this district were done just as big if not bigger then the one Luke was looking at and each fancier then the other as if trying to outmatch the other. Luke found the whole thing petty to waste money like this. Not to say he wouldn't like some, only the gain of wealth seemed pointless when you could be dead, but he liked his creature comforts as well so that balanced itself out.
Eventually, after asking a few people for directions, he found the estate of the Hai family and pressed the button to the communication pad.
"Hello, I'm here for the job," Luke said into the mic before releasing the button. After a awkward few seconds, the mic buzzed as a well mannered voice, most likely the butler of the family came on.
"Ah yes, Mr. Yasenha, Miss Hai has been expecting you in the living room for a little while now, she's eager to get to school and to her studies, I'll open the gate," The butler explained before the line cut off and the gates slowly swung open, allowing Luke to enter the estate. He walked up the light sandstone path up to the main mansion of the whole area and as he was about to knock, the butler opened the dark oak door. He was healthy thin, wearing a classic butler's outfit with curled back and well maintained gelled black hair, appearing glossy and reflective of the light coming in from the outside.
"Please, Mr.Yasenha, follow me," he spoke to him, gesturing to him to follow and Luke did, entering the richly decorated house, filled with grand oak floors and things of many decorations, wrapped in a case of gold as he was lead into the living room, looking the same as a fancy French castle would look like. Miss Hai was sitting on a chair, reading a hardback book; she had long, curly blonde hair, dark blue eyes and a well maintained body for someone about twelve years in age. She wore a long red summer dress with matching heels. A matching handbag in terms of color with a gold clip to keep it closed and a thin harness laid against the leg of the chair.
She looked up from the book she was reading, seeing Luke made her jump out her chair in fright.
"Who is that, Charles?!" She yelled, getting her handbag and took a few steps back before the butler, now known as Charles come over to her and put a gentle hand on her shoulder to reassure her.
"Miss Hai, please relax, this man is your guardian for today, I know he frightens you, but it is only for today, so please bare with him," he spoke calmly and she visibly relaxed a little at his words as she slid the handbag onto her arm and came up to Luke.
"Come then, we are running late for my classes and I would hate to be late," She told him, not making eye contact with this devil of a man as she walked past him and Luke followed her to and out the gate, following close by her.
He did see some kids of the girl's age walking near by, muttering things between them, probably about the new guard of her's. it wasn't a secret about what had happened, the kage had made that abundantly care since for something like this, word tends to travel fast. They were eventually stopped by a few of these rich brats, looking smugly at them.
"Well, well, I see the old man is sick again and you have a new dog to replace him; just like you to cower behind him, don't worry, we'll get you when your guard dog isn't around to..." The head boy of the group taunt her and Luke and already, Luke had heard enough of this arrogant smart ass and not even letting him finish his sentence, Luke shifted forwards, grabbing the boy by the throat and lifting him into the air as Luke took a few seconds of guilty pleasure of hearing the boy's choked breaths as he tried to breath through Luke's iron grip.
"Ok pal, listen up because I'm only going to say this once; if you don't get out of here within the next ten seconds, I'm going to give your servants a really hard time cleaning what's left of you off the pavement, am I clear?!" Luke snarled, his demon like pupils pulsing in his anger. The two other boys, who were ready to start name calling suddenly were a loss at words as they watch their friend being choked. The boy being choked quickly nodded in fear. Luke sighed and dropped him on his ass with him coughing violently with his friends grabbed one of his arms each and dragged him away. The girl looked in shock at how brutally Luke handled it, but also seeing how strong he was to face the bullies and deal with him and secretly cursed her own lack of power to defend herself.
They continued on in silence for the rest of the way, Luke didn't really feel like chatting and after his display earlier, she had too much to process mentally to talk to Luke. They eventually arrived at the school, which of course was a rich kids' private school and even though Luke had taken a while to get to the Hai's home and the earlier interruption by the bullies, they made it just in time and Luke lead her inside before leaving her to her studies, he wasn't needed for those anyway.
However, during the lunch break, as he was patrolling around the surrounding, he heard her scream and took off to find her being harassed by the bullies from earlier with one boy pulling on her hair while the other punched her in the face, the head boy, the one Luke had almost strangled to death was watching, amused by this torture as he came over and grabbed her by the throat, lifting her up so they were eye level as he smirked.
"Your guard dog isn't here to save you; I've been looking forward to this where you stop looking at me like your somehow superior to me, you have some nerve, looking down at me like that, so you'll pay for it with..." The boy said, gripping tighter around her neck, but again, before he could finish off his smug sentence, Luke came down on him, hard with a kick straight at the back, forcing the boy to let Miss Hai go. When the other two boys, he waited till they came close enough and grabbed their heads and forced their heads together, bashing theirs heads together with enough force to cause them to pass out as they fell to the ground. She looked in terror at what she was seeing before looking at Luke and suddenly hugged him unexpectedly.
"Oh thank you, I was scared they were going to kill me, thank you," She told him, crying a little and Luke, not sure what to do with her, simply let her cry it out and patted her gently on the head. Once Luke had brought them to the school nurse and explained what happened so the teachers could be made aware of their actions, Luke left her again so she could finish the day at school and he could rest up while waiting for her to finish the day.
Eventually, the school day came to a end and he was there, at the gate, waiting for her to come to him, which she did promptly and Luke took her hand to make sure she stayed close by him as he lead her back through the darkening streets towards her estate, the street lights coming on with a soft orange light. However, the closer they got, the more Luke felt like something or more accurately, someone was following them and he looked at Miss Hai and lead his head in and whispered softly.
"Don't make any sudden moves or reactions, but someone's following us, so stay close, Miss Hai and keep up with me," Luke told her and, although she looked worried and scared, she did as asked and didn't look around or look behind her, instead she stayed close to Luke as they hurried to her estate. They had almost reached the gate when a man appeared in front of the gate, dressed from head to toe in black, keeping his identity hidden for now as he stepped forward, trying to grab her hand, but before he could, Luke grabbed his wrist and shoved him backwards. He looked to Miss Hai.
"Get behind me; don't worry, I don't intend on letting him past me, I promise," Luke half ordered her and she didn't need too much convincing as she stood behind him as he charged forward at the masked man, who readied a kick at his face, which he blocked with his left arm, although going by the strength of the kick and how his stance was, it looked like he did some training in Taijutsu. Although even that didn't help him as Luke punched him in the gut, sending him back and making him cough before he made a few hand seals before performing fire style: fireball jutsu, which rocketed at Luke. But Luke, in the time it took for the fireball to come at him, he had formed some hand seals of his own.
"Fire style: Wall of Woe!" Luke called out before he released a small fireball from his palm, throwing it towards the ground before the ground in front of Luke and Miss Hai erupted into flames, forming a tall wall of flames, blocking the similarly ranked jutsu and absorbing it into the flames. And before the man could respond with a stronger jutsu to counter, the sound of a thousand birds chirping could be heard as Luke ran through the wall of flames, lightning chakra formed around his right hand, his eyes in their demon like form with the slit pupils once again before slashing the front of the man, causing blood to burst from his chest as the man collapsed, giving a scream of pain as his blood left his body and falling unconscious on the ground. Luke ended both jutsus and made a whistling sound to call a raven to him and wrapped a request for the local police force to take the man away before wrapping a arm around Miss Hai and escorted her to the gate and got her inside, although he heard the scraping of feet against the earth as the assailant had come round quicker then Luke thought and tried to come at him, but Luke, since Miss Hai was on the other side of the gate, fired lightning chakra around him, making a similar noise to the chidori he used earlier, but now it sounded like the birds were screaming instead of chirping.
"Chidori Stream! Luke called out as the lightning surged fourth from his body at speeds the man wouldn't be able to react to, electrifying him and causing him to fall to his knees, his body jerking as the chidori streams' side effect of causing the body to mess up the signals in the body came in.
"Don't try to move, you'll only end up with permanent paralysis, so give up and never come here again, goodbye," Luke said coldly as the police finally arrived to arrest the masked man, fitting restraints to disable his chakra use before taking him away with Luke heading for the gate and the Hai family estate.
Charles the butler and Miss Hai meet him at the door, she looked more composed then she did as Charles had comforted her and she looked at Luke with a thankful look in her eyes.
"Thank you, Mr.Yasenha, you've made a great bodyguard for me, it will be worth the money and I hope I can see you again as my guardian," She said politely before charles came up and offered a handshake, which Luke returned and shook gently.
"You've done well, Mr.Yasenha and you've made quite the impression on Miss Hai, I do hope we can count on your services again, and before I forget, here's the mission contract, sighed for, you've earned your pay, good evening, I need to prepare Miss Hai's dinner, come now, Miss Hai," Charles explained to him before giving him the signed contract by Miss Hai's parents. He thanked Charles for it and let them both get their dinner while he headed back to the main part of the village as darkness descended around him and the street lights fully came on. He handed in the contract and got his pay, a weighty amount for his services and he then returned to his home; a small flat like building, attached high up the tree for the view from the panoramic window. He entered, putting the money safely away in a safe in the floor before making a large helping of scrabbled eggs and two bacon sandwiches as he was famished. He ate them while watching some cartoons on TV before heading to bed, exhausted from the day's activities and let slumber take hold of him.
