A visitor in Sabakugakure (An open thread)

A cloaked young man came walking into the village. He had on a brown cloak that covered his head and body, leaving only the eyeholes open; these eyes were covered with a pair of goggles he'd found on a corpse out in the desert. The air was clear here, probably due to the amount of people that lived in the village. There wasn't as much sand flying around in the air, allowing Myuto to remove the hood and goggles.

The desert was pretty bad, but it wasn't going to deter Myuto at all. He'd dreamt of traveling in dangerous grounds and testing his limits. Fortunately today, Myuto was able to reach Sabaku without anything disastrous happening. The first thing Myuto did upon reaching the village was locate it's water source. Upon travel there, he would remove the cloak and submerge himself into the water. After a proper re-hydration, Myuto went about his ritual of tasting and examining the water from another village.

Echolocation told Myuto that there were far more strong chakra signatures here than in Morigakure. There were numerous skilled people living here. Myuto bottled up some of the desert water after filtering out the sand and dirt, then went to sit down somewhere out of the sun so that he could rest from the trip through the unforgiving desert. He sat on a shaded bench and began to draw the scenery.

Miyuki had been settling into the desert quite nicely since properly moving there; far easier than she had originally thought possible. Her hair, once a deep and dark shade of red was now nearly orange by the roots and a lighter shade of red near the ends, and her skin which had once been unhealthy and pale was now lightly tanned from hours spent in the sunlight.

She no longer wore her usual bulky sweaters as doing so in such a hot and dry climate would have surely meant the death of her: instead she dressed in a variety of colorful garments which included a green long sleeved undershirt made out of a comfortably light material that covered her from the suns harsh rays while being thin enough to keep her from becoming overheated and ensuring that the scars that littered her body were well hidden, a pair of knee length shorts accompanied this outfit that were red in color, as well as a tan colored rob like top held closed with a red sash, finally her feet were in brown colored open toed shinobi sandals.

At the moment, with a nice and cold cup of tea in hand that she had picked up from the market, Miyuki was making her way down the various streets; far more comfortable than she had been in her old village. It was while walking that she spotted someone she hadn't seen before, who looked as if they were drawing something. Curiosity driving her she moved closer, watching for a moment with her head slightly cocked to the side. "You're very good at that.", she would comment in her typically soft voice, feeling a bit braver now than she had when she had first moved to the village.

Suna recently destroyed a band of pirates with plans of taking over the village. He didn't let it get to his head too badly, and kept his eye open for any more ways to protect his new home. Every so often his thoughts would drift back to Mori. It was an alright village when Temaki ran it, but now he didn't know what to think. The new guy got spanked by a couple of maniacs out in the woods. At least, that's how he heard it. The guy had to run for his life, then risk the journey through the desert bleeding in order to find medics, since the maniacs yanked off one of his arms.

That wasn't gaining any cool points when it came to Suna. There was still that moron Okami too, through from what he managed to hear, quit with all the emo lobster stuff. Suna didn't believe it. Suna really didn't care. He didn't often think of Mori anymore because it was being run into the ground. He was currently running across rooftops, jumping from house to the next, from building to building. He could easily be seen by the orange hoodie he wore, bright colored to deflect the rays of the sun.

On one of the streets, Suna spotted Miyuki near someone he'd never seen before, jumping across one road to the other. He could quickly tell that the person she was near wasn't from the desert, dressed in a blue flak jacket he saw high ranking ninja wear. Suna changed directions while landing on the roof across the road and began to head over towards them.

There was someone with above average chakra nearby. The echo he got back from her told him so. She had been training, refining herself. She came near him, probably because it was pretty obvious that he was an outsider from another village. She looked at his drawing and complimented him. Myuto didn't let compliments go to his head, and only shrugged his shoulders.

He reached behind him into his water tight pack to grab the other pictures he'd drawn; pictures of Morigakure and certain areas out in the Yasei, handing them towards her is she wanted to look. Echolocation revealed that someone else with an above average chakra level was nearby jumping around on the rooftops, and had changed direction to head towards himself and the female here.

Myuto quickly sketched a picture of the female, and also of the person coming towards them wearing the device on his face. They had to have an interesting story as to why they had to hide their face, but unless he chose to tell, Myuto would never ask him. There were other above average chakras throughout the village too; Myuto found this pretty interesting. It was more interesting than Morigakure, who'd only had the one Uchiha there when he visited.

A glance behind herself revealed Suna moving closer; it had seemed as if he too had spotted the shinobi from another village. "Afternoon, Suna." Turning her attention back to the artist she watched then as he pulled forth several other images he had drawn, handing them to her. She looked them over, handling them with the up-most care. It was pretty clear what his subject matter was, and it caused the smallest frown to form on her face.

"Morigakure.... My old home..."

Even if it was a bit unnerving to see images of the place she had once called home it wouldn't escape her how well done the drawings were, and how much detail there was. There seemed to be only one person however: Okami Uchiha. "Okami Uchiha... I hope he didn't give you any trouble when you went there...." She didn't want to get into too much detail about what Okami had done, but she did hope that the Uchiha hadn't given the artist too much trouble.

"Miyuki the cutie! What's up."

Suna came over with his hands in the pockets of his bright orange hoodie, the hood on his head. Besides the gas mask and the gourd on his back he was sort of looking different nowdays. The out-of-towner had what looked like 2 swords on his back. He was drawing a picture of what looked like Sabaku, villagers, Miyuki and even him.

Suna stood next to Miyuki to look at the other pictures he'd handed her. The guy was good: he could clearly see that he'd drawn pictures of Mori. He'd even drawn a picture of that lobster and emolester Okami, capturing the emotastic scars on his face. "Did that moron try and snap his lobster claws at you?" Suna asked.

There was still that anger when it came to that guy; still that slight urge to do away with him because of what he'd almost done that day. "Yeah... we used to live there, but stuff happened, and we live here now. There's a long story when it comes to that idiot there," Suna said, pointing to the picture of Okami. "But I won't bore you with the details. Long story short: I can't stand that guy, and i'd like to see him bleed, lose some fingers, some toes. Maybe a leg."

His red eyes look to the female when she said that Morigakure was her old home. There was a frown, so maybe she didn't have the fondest memories of the village. She mentioned Okami, the Uchiha, by name, and said that she hoped he didn't giver her any trouble. Myuto shook his head no. Had he been any trouble, Myuto was confident that he could defend himself against the man, even with him being part of the famed Uchiha Clan.

The person with the strange mask, revealed to be a boy from the sound of his voice, also voiced his displeasure of Okami by calling him a lobster and asking if he'd "snapped his claws" at Myuto, to which Myuto just shook his head no again with sort of a half puzzled/half amused look. There was an untold story there; Myuto wondered what it was. He ordinarily didn't find himself being so nosy, but these 2 had an obvious dislike for Okami Uchiha.

The masked boy confirmed that there indeed was a story, and a long one. He told Myuto that he and the female here used to live in Morigakure, but now they lived here. The masked boy said he couldn't stand Okami, and would like to see him bleeding and hurt. Myuto didn't really show a reaction. Sometimes people did things to where they deserved to suffer.

With the 2 of them standing still, it was easier to draw pictures of them. In was interesting to draw a picture of a female other than his mother and sister, and it was fun to draw a picture of someone with so much detail, a strange thing covering his face, and a gourd on his back. Myuto wondered what he was carrying in there.

Myuto, finished with his picture, pulled out a sealed note. He showed it to the two of them and pointed to the word "Arenokage" on the front of it, as if to ask where she was.

Myuto shook his head no to her comment about hoping that Okami hadn't caused him any sort of trouble. Suna made his own comments, and seemed to still feel some anger towards Okami due to what had happened, which she didn't blame him for. Suna even went so far to say that he'd like to see Okami bleeding or hurt; which was better than dead at least.

Miyuki would return the drawings to Myuto before watching him continue to draw herself and Suna. The work was in great detail, and she found herself wondering how long it had taken him to get so good, though she didn't ask.

When Myuto finished he pulled out a scroll and pointed to the name on it: it was for Emiko. "A letter for Emiko sensei? Come on, I'll take you to her office, it isn't far." She would wait for Myuto to ready himself, if he was willing to follow her, and then she would lead the way through the streets and toward the Administrative Building. They truly weren't all that far away, and it would be only a few minutes before they were walking through the front doors and out of the hot sun. Emiko had told her she was always welcome in her office, and that she and Suna never had to worry about making an appointment, so she led the way up instead of stopping at the receptionists desk. Once outside of the large ornate door she would knock softly.

The guy shook his head no when Suna asked about Okami's lobster claws. He sort of looked like he wanted to laugh at his comment, but didn't. Suna noticed that he was able to draw a picture of him and Miyuki rather quickly. He nodded his head in approval, impressed. This guy was a strange one. He hadn't said anything yet, and had some kind of crazy looking device on his right arm.

Suna wasn't going to start asking a bunch of questions; he'd respect the guy's privacy. The guy eventually pulled out a scroll with Arenokage written on it, and Miyuki offered to take him to go see Emiko. Suna decided to tag along too, sliding his hands into his hoodie pockets as they began to walk. "So you came here from Umigakure, eh?... You don't talk much, do ya?"

Soon they were walking into the admin building. Miyuki lived here, so she was able to walk right past the receptionist and directly to Emiko's office. She knocked on the door...

"Enter."

Emiko was bent over her desk and busy working on the dreaded paperwork. She'd much rather be out in the field crushing bad guys to death with her sand than filling out paperwork, but it was part of the job so she wasn't going to complain. Besides, it wasn't like she hadn't known what she was getting into when she took the job in the first place. Paperwork was important, too.

A seal would be activated on her desk absently which would cause the large door to open itself up, allowing them to enter freely. Emiko would look up to see Miyuki, Suna, and another individual who was dressed in a lot of blue and whom smelled of the sea that Emiko had had a chance to see a few times in her life. "What can I do for you?", she would ask, leaning back and relaxing comfortably in her chair. She was in her Kage robes for once due to having been in meetings all morning long, and her large gourd of sand was seated next to her chair which gave off the usual sent of blood.

The office, much like when Marquetta had been in office, was furnished in lots of wood-based furniture that was comfortably padded in a variety of tan, green, and red patterns. There was a desk off in the corner near the door, her secretary's, but it was unmanned at the moment due to the other woman being out at lunch. Both desk were neatly piled with paperwork; most of which was in the box labeled "Out Box".

Emiko was the Arenokage's name here. The girl offered to take Myuto to go and see her. That certainly made things easier than having to go through the receptionist. Myuto gathered his drawings and returned them to his water tight pack then stood while taking a long drink from his water bottle. The water in the desert had a harder, more pure quality than that of Morigakure and the ocean. It was unlike anything he'd tasted before, and he made sure to fill a couple of his bottles to add to his collection.

As they were walking, the masked boy asked if Myuto was from Umigakure, to which Myuto nodded his head. The boy stated that Myuto didn't talk much, making him then shrug his shoulders. Myuto went with the two to what looked to be the Administration Buildings, and followed along with the girl to an office where she knocked on the door. The door looked to open by itself with a female voice inside saying to enter.

Myuto went inside with the two kids. He could smell blood, and wondered who was dead, or dying. Red eyes look all around the office, but he couldn't see anyone bleeding or dead. There was a woman in the office, who had something similar to what the masked boy was carrying on his back. Were they in the same clan? What was that thing, exactly? Did they use it to fight? Was it similar to the same kind of gourd that Umiko carried, except for carrying water perhaps they carried sand in it?... The desert people were a mysterious bunch.

Emiko asked what he could do for her. After another long drink of water he put the bottle back onto his hip with the others, then pointed to the Umigakure headband around his neck, as if to say that was where he was from, then he showed her the note with "Arenokage" written on it, sealed with the stamp of Umigakure. The seal was still intact, indicating that he hadn't opened and read it. Myuto didn't know what the note said, but he'd already guessed that it was to inform Emiko that Umigakure wasn't dead, and that Sabakugakure was free to visit. There were probably trade proposals, as well as other village political issues that Myuto found boring for the most part. He handed it towards her.

"Aha. I knew I saw someone new in the village. Welcome to Sabaku!"

In one of the windows was a small boy. He was wearing a red du-rag on his head, situated so that it covered his eyes. He wore headphones on his ears. He'd calmed down from the other day and that incident, so a big grin was on his face.

He wasn't totally in the office, he was outside, peeking his head in through a window by some means. "Hey Emiko, I just came to let you know - if you didn't know already - that I think that summit thing is about to happen soon. Alec already went by here in on that ship of his, so Kurayami is already there. I saw somebody showing up there from the direction of the ocean too, so that has to be the Kage from Umigakure. That just leaves us... Me and Mits will watch after the village while you're gone. Taking Suna and Miyuki with you I can guess?"

Holeman waved before he jumped away from the window and was gone.

Miyuki heard Emiko's voice from the other side of the office door saying to enter before the door opened all on its own. Miyuki just grinned a bit; there were a few doors like this throughout the Arenokage's house, including all of the bedrooms which could only be activated by specific chakra. It was meant to keep people out who otherwise didn't belong, and it was one of the things that made Miyuki feel so safe staying there.

"We have a visitor, Emiko sensei. He has a message for you...", Miyuki would explain before falling silent after entering into the office.

Myuto showed Emiko the letter, handing it to her, and then Holeman made a quick appearance. He mentioned a Kage Summit, and from what it sounded like Emiko sensei was the only one who hadn't arrived in Morigakure yet. He also mentioned how him and Mitsukai would keep an eye on things and take care of the village while she was gone: he also mentioned how she would likely take Suna and Miyuki herself with her. Were they going to go back to Mori, then? Miyuki had only heard of Kage Summits in books, she had never thought of there actually being one, let alone getting to go. It was kind of exciting to think about, even if it did mean going back to Mori for a visit.

"Do we really get to go with you?" Miyuki would ask. She was curious as to what was in the letter, but figured it best not to ask: if Emiko wanted them to know she would tell them.

He shrugged his shoulders when Suna asked if he didn't talk much. It made Suna scratch the top of his head. How did you get along when you didn't speak?... weird.

The door opened and Emiko told them to enter. Suna walked in with them, having not been in this office yet. He took a look around while the out-of-towner walked over to the desk. Suna saw him point to his headband, then pull out the note with Arenokage on it. Suna guessed it was boring Kage leader stuff written on it, and he wasn't going to ask what it was.

Holeman made an appearance, saying that a summit was going to happen in Mori. He said the blind dude Kane had already passed by on his way, and that someone came out of the ocean, possibly the out-of-towner's Kage. Everybody was there except for them, and that he and Mitsukai would watch the village while they all went.

Miyuki asked if Emiko was going to take them with her. "I don't mind, but if that emolester starts up with me again, I can't make any promises that i'll behave," said Suna, his hands still in his hoodie pockets. Perhaps there would always be part of him that wanted to settle the score with that Uchiha, but for the most part, Suna had decided that he wouldn't do anything that would make the village look bad. He already loved it here and didn't want to leave.

The shinobi who smelled like the ocean pointed to his headband and then handed her what was clearly a letter from the Umikage. She broke the seal, opened it, and began to read the contents as Holeman made a quick appearance. He said that he figured the Summit was going to start soon since Alec had already passed by on his way there and Holeman had also spotted a Kage from Umigakure heading there too. He said that him and Mitsukai would watch over Sabakugakure while they were gone.

"Alright, thanks." She would then shift her attention to the Umigakure nin as Holeman left. "Thank you for bringing this to me. You're free to explore the village if you wish."

Then her attention would shift to Miyuki as she nodded her head yes. "Yeah, both of you can come.. and I didn't expect anything different, Suna. If he starts with you, either of you, I fully expect you both to defend yourselves." They had every right to after all, and while some time had passed, it was clear that things would never be normal between Suna and Okami, and she didn't blame Suna for it. "We should head out soon. Grab anything you'll need for the trip and then meet me at the gates..."

Emiko would wait to see if anyone had anything to add, and if not she would stand up and strap her gourd onto her back before taking off out the window: she needed nothing more than the sand she planned on carrying with her.

Emiko thanked Myuto for bringing him the note, and said that he was free to explore the village if he wished to. That was the plan, until a kid with something tired over his eyes looked in through one of the windows. Myuto wondered how he was able to see like that. He said that there was a summit, and that someone named Alec had already passed by the desert on his way there. He mentioned Kurayamigakure, so this Alec person had to be the Kage there. He also mentioned someone from the ocean, which had to be Umiko. Sabaku was the only village not in attendance, which had to mean that this summit was taking place in the village that he'd just come here from: Morigakure. This meant he'd have to go back, so that Umiko wasn't alone there.

The kid with the blindfold said him and someone else - a "Mits" would watch the village, and said that Emiko would probably be taking these two with her. The masked boy had to be named Suna, since Suna meant "sand." The girl had to be Miyuki. Suna said he couldn't promise to behave if the "Emolester" started up with him again. he was probably talking about Okami Uchiha again. Myuto still wondered what happened between them all, especially as Emiko was giving them permission to defend themselves should conflict arise. Would there be a battle at the summit of Kage? Myuto couldn't wait to see it if there was. A clash of shinobi: a Uchiha vs a Sand ninja.

So while the Sabaku nin would be heading in the direction that he himself was going, Myuto thought that he may as well tag along. Putting on the cloak to protect himself from the dry air of the desert again, Myuto followed along with Emiko and jumped out of the window behind her.

Emiko said that they could come with her to which Suna commented that he'd go, but if Okami Uchiha started with him again he couldn't promise that he'd behave himself. Surprisingly, or perhaps not surprisingly, Emiko sensei gave them permission openly to defend themselves were a situation arise. Miyuki wasn't exactly worried: she figured Okami would have to have a death wish to allow his emotions to get the best of him at a village event involving the strongest members of each of the standing ninja villages. Chances were if Suna didn't hurt him, or kill him, one of the other Kage's or their guard would.

Emiko strapped on her gourd, telling her and Suna to meet her at the gates when they were ready. Miyuki had on her what she would need, since Morigakure wasn't too cold of place, meaning she wouldn't need to grab a jacket or anything. The rest of her equipment was always on her in the various pouches strapped to her. "I'm ready now." Miyuki watched as Myuto followed Emiko sensei out the window, and she figured that to mean that he was coming with them - likely to be there for his own Kage since she had been seen traveling alone.

Figuring there was no point in delaying things further Miyuki went ahead and joined in on the jumping out of the window; it was much more convenient than going the whole way through the building after all just to get outside when the outside was right there. She too would follow Emiko sensei through the village and to the gates so that they could star their journey to what was likely going to be a very interesting event: a grin was plastered on her face in anticipation despite the fact that she wasn't too keen on the idea of going back to Morigakure so soon.

Green light to shred the lobster into red meat. They wouldn't be able to see the grin that appeared on his scarred face, so he nodded his head. If Suna knew better, he had the emolester figured to approach with all of this friendly stuff, especially seeing as he had that fascination of his with Miyuki. He was surely going to be eating and digesting sand were he to get too close this time.

"Got everything I need right here with me, ready when you are, coach." The silent water guy put on a desert cloak, so maybe he was coming with them. Suna didn't mind. There were bandits and maniacs out there in some parts of the desert who attack people, even shinobi. More numbers meant a smoother trip.

Suna jumped out of the window with the others.
